President – Sue Frank
As the office manager/landscape technician, Sue is the oil for the machine known as Chevalier Outdoor Living. She started back in 1994 by landscaping, snowplowing, and managing the office. She continues to do all this and more. Sue’s degree in Business Administration, on-the-job experience and her continued business education keeps her atop her game. Vice President – Phil Tripi
As the founder of Tripi’s Landscaping Phil’s success story begins over twelve years ago with a truck and an idea. From that moment Tripi’s Landscaping has grown into a full service landscaping outdoor living and maintenance company. Phil continues to focus on both his positions as a businessman, landscape designer, entrepreneur, and father. A continuous drive to educate himself on the latest and greatest landscaping techniques has kept him on the forefront of the Industry. His accomplishments can be attributed to his ability to adapt and reinvent old ideas.
Treasurer - Jeanetta Hanlon, CNLP
Jeanetta graduated from Harper College with degrees in Horticulture and Parks & Grounds Management in 1987. Locally she owned her own landscaping company from 1989-1997. Jeanetta then moved into estate management gaining further experience in greenhouse growing, tropical plants, and interior plantscaping. During that time, she became a CNLP and 3A Certified Pesticide Technician. Since 2015 Jeanetta has been working for Dore Landscaping and Akron Tree Farm.
Secretary - Kristy Schmitt, CNLP
Kristy Schmitt has been the director of education at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens since 2013. She loves plants, particularly trees and mosses and enjoys sharing the botanical world with people of all ages! Kristy is a graduate of Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry. Her background is in science education and she has been employed at the Pioneer School district and Buffalo Audubon Society before working at the Botanical Gardens. She became a CNLP in 2017. A native to Arcade, NY she currently lives in South Buffalo with her husband Travis and daughter Linden.
Director – Teresa Buchanan, CNLP
Teresa graduated from the University of Buffalo with a BA in Spanish and MA in Geography (International Trade). Following her passion, she decided on a career change in 1991 and returned to NCCC to obtain a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. Gaining experience in tropical houseplants at Menne Nursery, she moved on to work in greenhouse production, tree and shrubs sales, and managing a satellite location for Wanakah Landscaping. With the closing of that location in 1995, she started working for Lockwood’s Greenhouses and became Garden Center Manager in 2006. Teresa has been a CNLP since 1996.
