PLANT WNY leadership is composed of combined elected and volunteer personnel.  Board Members are the elected officers of this organization and are nominated by a committee and elected at its General Meeting. Board Members are elected for a one a year term as stated in the bylaws. Any member in good standing can be nominated and elected.

President – Tara Perrin
Tara started her career over 14 years ago as a field laborer at Murray Bros. Nurseries Inc. She quickly moved up in ranks to Assistant Manager and has dabbled in every aspect of the company. From bookkeeping, landscape design, and customer care, to mowing, mulching and watering fields. She became a CNLP at the young age of 24. She currently resides in South Buffalo with her husband Kevin, son Louie and daughter Arlo.

Vice President – Teresa Buchanan, CNLP
Teresa graduated from the University of Buffalo with a BA in Spanish and MA in Geography (International Trade). Following her passion, she decided on a career change in 1991 and returned to NCCC to obtain a degree in Ornamental Horticulture.
Gaining experience in tropical houseplants at Menne Nursery, she moved on to work in greenhouse production, tree and shrubs sales, and managing a satellite location for Wanakah Landscaping. With the closing of that location in 1995, she started working for Lockwood’s Greenhouses and became Garden Center Manager in 2006. Teresa has been a CNLP since 1996.

Treasurer – Sue Frank
As the office manager/landscape technician, Sue is the oil for the machine known as Chevalier Outdoor Living. She started back in 1994 by landscaping, snowplowing, and managing the office. She continues to do all this and more. Sue’s degree in Business Administration, on-the-job experience and her continued business education keeps her atop her game. Favorite quote: “Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.” –Simon Sinek

Secretary – Phil Tripi
As the founder of Tripi’s Landscaping Phil’s success story begins over twelve years ago with a truck and an idea.  From that moment Tripi’s Landscaping has grown into a full service landscaping outdoor living and maintenance company.  Phil continues to focus on both his positions as a businessman, landscape designer, entrepreneur, and father. A continuous drive to educate himself on the latest and greatest landscaping techniques has kept him on the forefront of the Industry. His accomplishments can be attributed to his ability to adapt and reinvent old ideas. 

Director - Kristin Pochopin, CNLP
Kristin started on her career path in human services, graduating from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Psychology. Her path eventually led to horticulture, graduating from Harrisburg Area Community College with an AAS in Ornamental Horticulture.

While living in Pennsylvania, Kristin worked for Shiloh Nursery, a retail garden center as a Perennial Department Manager and for Trail Nursery, a wholesale nursery as an Assistant Grower. Locally, Kristin has worked for Miller Farm, Ebenezer Greenhouse and Florist and Lisa's Greenhouse. She is currently employed at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. Kristin is a Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional and a 3A certified pesticide applicator.
